OUR STORY
Augusta Street Market was established in 2024 as a gourmet grocery concept by Nick Petracca and Shane Taylor.
Nick Petracca knew from an early age that he was meant to work in the culinary arts. Growing up on Long Island as the second youngest of five, Petracca took his love of eating to the kitchen, where he learned to embrace his family’s Italian heritage and pulled inspiration for the Augusta Street Market from growing up around New York. Even with a quick pit stop in investment banking and venture capital, Petracca always knew his heart belonged in the hospitality industry.
Petracca and Taylor’s organic pairing came from a coincidental meeting. Taylor, a former part-owner of Tasty as Fit, which now houses the Augusta Street Market, held onto the space in the heart of Greenville for nearly two years, hoping for the right idea to fill the storefront. When he was connected with Petracca, his passion for food drew him in. Together, they knew the mix of high-quality products and charming hospitality would be the perfect spot for the market on Augusta Street.
